Shear buckling characteristics of non-prismatic plate girders with corrugated trapezoidal web

Distortional buckling is a sort of new issue which has been known from 25 to 30 years ago. In this kind of buckling the section of beam bows vertically in addition to lateral movement while beam buckles. In order to avoid buckling of web we can increase thickness of web or use longitudinal and transverse stiffeners. An economical approach in order to avoid web buckling is corrugating it. In this paper using finite element software ABAQUS, the behavior of non-prismatic plate girders with corrugated trapezoidal web has been studied parametrically and non-linear material and geometry analysis has been applied to it and effect of variation of geometry of trapezoidal wave in non-prismatic plate girders in strength parameters in system have been studied and these plate girders have been compared with similar samples with simple web
