Narrative Strategies in Postmodern Fiction

This paper intends to examine some of the main strategies and techniques postmodern writers employ in their works. In this regard, a concise introduction to the term postmodernism will be first given, and then the strategies deployed by a couple of authors associated with postmodern fiction will be defined, and at the end, by bringing some examples as illustrations of them, the reader will be best acquainted with postmodernism and the way postmodernists create a narrative. Postmodern writers, it will be investigated, employ techniques and strategies which are absolutely different from realist and modernist writers, and leave much for readers to come up with possible outcomes for the fictions they come across. Writers writing under the term postmodern disrupt readers’ expectations and expect them to participate during the reading process
