Carbon foams have attracted great attention in many applications because of their lightweight, high thermal and shocking resistance [1]. The type of carbon foams depend onthe raw materials (precursor) and the manufacture process employs. The carbon foam derived phenolic resin can be usedfor thermal insulations and has been prepared by using various methods [2]. On the other hand, phase change materials (PCM) capable of absorbing or releasing large amount of heatduring phase transitions between two solid states or liquid and solid state are a subgroup of heat storage systems. PCM couldbe effectively used in to delay or reduce the temperature rise of the insulators [3]. In this paper we prepared the proper Novolac-based carbon foam for adding PCM and we characterized thermal behavior of the proposed system for high temperature application in air condition
