چکیده

Different kinds of materials have been used for active healing of a wound from the ancient times. Materials such as soil, milk, herbs, honey and animal fat have been used for woundcovering [1], [2]. Electrospinning is a unique technique for producing nanofibers. The fibers produced by this method have shownspecial characteristics, such as large surface to volume ratio and high porosity [1]. Although skin damage caused by the injuries are somewhat fixable themselves, but often depending on the severity of the injury immediate medical cares are required. An ideal dressing should maintain a moistenvironment at the wound interface, allow gaseous exchange, act as a barrier to microorganisms and remove excess exudates[2]. To increase the efficacy of polymeric nanofibrous wound dressings and to adapt them from interactive to bioactive materials, some essential wound healing additives such asantibiotics, vitamins and cellular growth agents and herbal medicines or their components have been used [3]. In thiswork, the performance of PCL/PLA nanofiber mats containing thymol as an effective antibiotic and antiseptic agent for wound healing was investigated.
