To date, the coupling reaction was found to be achievable through the emerging field of click reactions . The term click chemistry was coined by Sharpless et al. in the in 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of organo azides and alkynes to provide heterocyclic five membered rings. The CuAAC clickreaction has received considerable attention as powerful modular synthesis approach,(1) because of their high selectivity, near-perfect reliability, high yields, andexceptional tolerance towards a wide range of functional groups and reaction conditions, has found numerousapplications in organic chemistry, drug discovery, bioconjugation, and materials science.(2) In supramolecular and polymer chemistry, clickable groups placed at chaintermini, or randomly incorporated along the backbone, provide reactive sites for postpolymerization functionalization. In particular, click chemistry is increasingly used in engineering thermoplastic polymer synthesis. In this article, we describe the synthesis and characterization of apolycalixtriazole(PCTs) using polymerizable derivative of calix[4]arene diazo moieties via the emerging field of synthetic chemistry known as click reaction. Moreover, wediscuss on sorption ability of the polycalixtriazoles towardsome environmentally hazarodous transition metals and investigate on their thermophysical properties.
