Synthesis of Linear Polyurethane Elastomers Containing Alkyne Groups by Click Chemistry

The wide range of starting compounds for polyurethane synthesis leads to the synthesis of materials with different and unique properties. The targeted applications for PUs areautomobile, medicine, comfort, materials, buildings, paintings, coatings, adhesives and packaging.³ Additionally, the chemistry of polyurethanes allows for thesynthesis of foams ( flexible and rigid ) or thermoplastic polymers, depending on their synthetic conditions. Morerecently, much attention is shown for the development of functional polyurethanes because it is expected that they lead to applications that are outside of the PU market, thus giving rise to additional functionality to the end materials. This communication focuses on the synthesis of novel PU elastomers by using click chemistry method.
