Effect of Curing Time on Dynamic/ Mechanical and Tensile Properties of Crosslinked High Density Polyethylene

چکیده

In the present work, the water-crosslinking reactions of silane-grafted High density polyethylene (HDPE) was studied. When catalyst masterbatch was blended with silane grafted polyethylene, the curing time was decreased considerably. The effects of various crosslinking times on the dynamic and mechanical properties of the crosslinked polyethylenes was studied. It was observed that the dynamic modulus, tensile strength, yield strain and static modulus of the crosslinked HDPE was more than the uncrosslinked HDPE. The results demonstrated that dynamic and mechanical properties of the crosslinked HDPE enhanced up to 18% compared to the uncrosslinked HDPE
