Mechanical Properties of Hemp Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Polyurethane composites

Composite materials from thermoplastic polyurethane and alkali treated hemp fibers in different fiber loadings from 10 to 40% by volume were prepared. In order to study the effect of fiber loading on mechanical properties of the composites, investigations through tensile, flexural and inter-laminar Shear tests were done. Results showed that having a good compatibility between fibers and matrix has led to improvement in all mechanical properties by increasing fiber content
