In this work, acrylamide monomers were grafted onto the surfaces of polystyrene (PS) nanofibers by using a nitrogen (N2) plasma treatment. In first step, the surfaces of electrospun PS nanofibrous samples were treated with N2 plasma and in step 2; they were immersed into acrylamide solution for functionalizing the samplesvia NCO groups. These functionalized and modified nanofibrous samples were characterized by ATR-FTIRand scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The ATR-FTIR spectrum of the modified nanofibers showed new characteristic bands compared with the samples without plasma treatment. Moreover, SEM micrographs indicated that a significant difference between the treated sample by acrylamide and without treatment
