The click reaction of azide and alkyne groups wasutilized for the preparation of poly(urethane-triazole) based coating system with theability to self-heal the scratched formed on its surface by either thermal or catalytic treatments. The prepared polymeric coating showed excellent physico-mechanical properties. The damaged area of this coating could be repaired by either heating to 100 °C or putting into a solution composed of catalytic amounts of Cu(I)/sodium ascorbate
