Effect of Composition on Dynamic Properties and Adhesion Performance of an Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesive: Optimization by Response Surface Methodology

چکیده
This paper deals with the effects of composition of an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive compound on its performance characteristics like peel strength and tackiness. To this end, concentrations of triethyl citrate (TEC, as a plasticizer) and oxalic acid (OA, as a crosslinking agent) were varied in an adhesive composition according to a central composite response surface methodology (RSM). Dynamic properties of dried adhesive films were studied by oscillatory rheometry to infer adhesion performance characteristics better via viscoelastic window (VW) concept. According to the findings analyzed by RSM and VW plots, plasticizer concentration is a more determinant parameter than crosslinking agent concentration on adhesion performance characteristics. In contrast to OA concentration, tackiness and peel strength values showed a direct correlation with TEC concentration. Finally, optimal concentrations for TEC and OA concentrations were 43-48 %wt and less than 1 %wt, respectivelyکلیدواژه ها
