Influence of solid Content on Mechanical Properties of a Model Highly Filled Polyurethane

Highly filled elastomers almost have weak mechanical properties because of having high solid content and low interfacial strength between phases. In this study highly filled composites based on polyurethane with 86 to 89% solid were prepared. Our goal was to achieve highly filled composites with moderate modulus (2-6 MPa) and maximum elongation at break with tuning the ingredients of the formulations. For instance, for the first time in this study, a particulate composites containing 88% solid was prepared with elongation at break and modulus of about 60% and 4 MP, respectively
