The effect of AlCl3 as catalyst in the copolymerization of butylmethacrylate and 1-hexene

In this study the effect of using AlCl3 as a catalyst for copolymerization of butyl methacrylate and 1-hexene has been investigated. Analysis of 1HNMR was showed the increase of participation of α-olefin into copolymer chain when using AlCl3 as Lewis acid in the reaction. DSC results were confirmed that prepared samples in the presence of AlCl3 have less Tg temperatures in the same conditions due to the increase of 1- hexene into copolymer backbone
