چکیده

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), chitosan (Cts) and chitosan-modified montmorillonite (CtsMMT) were prepared by phase separation method. The effects of hydrogel components on water absorption, gel fraction, water vapor and oxygen permeability and mechanical properties were investigated. The blending PVA with Cts increased the water vapor and oxygen permeability and water absorption and decreased the mechanical properties of hydrogel membrane. Addition of CtsMMT to PVA and PVA/Cts led to improve mechanical properties of membranes. PVA/CtsMMT showed more water absorption and less water and oxygen permeability
