Determination and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles Formation in PVA and PCL Solutions

چکیده
In this study, the size of reduced silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in polycaprolactone PCL) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solutions was determined by UV-visible spectrometer. Also, the formation of AgNPs was proved by conductivity and shear viscosity measurement. N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and PVA were used as reducing agents in PCL and PVA solutions,respectively. The reduction of silver nitrate was confirmed by observing the absorption peak in range of 420-430 nm.According to Mie scattering theory, the full width at half of the maximum absorption peak is a criteria of nanoparticle diameter. The sizes of nanoparticles obtained by reduction of silver nitrate were 1.3 nm and 1.5 nm for PCL and PVA solutions, respectively.
