چکیده

Damping low frequency oscillations of power systems is one of the most important determinants of system stability. Due to the increasing growth of wind farms with high penetration levels in power systems as well as their participation and control, it seems important to increase the damping system oscillations.This study presents coordinate control tuning of powersystem stabilizer (PSS) with doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) controllers.Here optimized controller as a power oscillation damper (POD) was applied to DFIG control loop as backup control based controllers arecoordinated to enhance the damping of power system inter areaoscillations. The design of proposed damping controller isformulated as an optimization problem and the controller gainsof a linearized power system are optimized instantaneously usingdragonfly algorithm (DA). Here the power system employed withPSS and DFIG. The coordinated tuningamong the damping controllers is performed on the linearizedpower system model. Finally, the proposed coordinatedcontroller performance is tested a four-machine two-area power system. Three different control schemesare employed on the test system and the simulation results arecompared
