خلاصه مقاله:
The aim of this work is the evaluation of wind energy potentiality for Quchan city in Khorasan Razavi province in the northern region of Iran. A long term data source, consisting of 6 years in Quchan meteorology station three-hourly mean wind data, was adopted and analyzed. Weibull density function has been used to determine the wind power density and energy of the region. Standard deviation method used to obtain shape and scale parameters of Weibull distribution function. The estimated annual mean wind speed at 10 m height is 4.62 (m/s) and annual mean measured wind power is 126.95 (w/m2). Another objective of this work is evaluating the wind power density based on the monthly and seasonally to analyze the wind behavior of intended area accurately. An evaluation of the wind resource available in Quchan city generally falls into class 1 Wind power classification by Elliot and Schwartz and it’s not suitable for large-scale wind turbines establishments but has sufficient wind for small scale wind turbines for different purposes.
