چکیده مقاله:

We have utilized a Finite Element Model (FEM) to study the failure in adhesive joints with composite adherents. We have investigated the joint tensile strength in both single-lap and double-lap joints of carbon-fiber composite materials. The adhesive joint failure is modeled by using Hashin criteria in Abaqus software. We have performed a variety of Finite Element (FE) simulations with different ply stacking sequences. The simulation results indicate the dominant role of plies with 0 and 90 degree of orientation in increasing the strength of adhesive joints under tensile loading conditions. Moreover, we have compared the influence of composite layup for single and double-lap joints.
