Developing Software to Design Marine Gearbox Components According to BV Rules

The gear systems are widely used in industry to transmit the power or change the direction of the torque. Due to the extensive usage of the gears, the detailed design and the subsequent maintenance of these systems are more and more evident. In this article among many methods to design spur and helical gears and shaft in industry, BV rules are chosen. Since software are used to prompt and accurate calculation, after brief explanation of BV rules, developed software based on GUI will be explained. In this software in addition to BV rules, Interference and undercut conditions are considered too this software also could evaluate start and end of active profile. The software can be used to design spur and helical gear tooth and gear shaft. At last an example is solved by software and result are shown.
