In the past, the mother-adolescent’s relationship was the focus ofresearches, while few studies were investigating father involvement rolein Iranian children’s life. In order to explore adolescent’spsychological well-being, it is necessary to recognize important factorsthat affect it. Father involvement is one of the most important factors;however, studies are scant on this issue among Iranian population. Thisstudy aimed to examine the relationship between father involvementand adolescent’s psychological well-being, while considering the roleof adolescent’s and parent’s personal characteristics. So the study wasconducted in Tehran, on 376 adolescents (12-14 years old), selectedthrough a multi-stage cluster sampling technique. A self-administeredquestionnaire was used to collect the data.The findings showed that respondents possessed a moderatelysignificant relationship with father involvement. Moreover, fatherinvolvement was a strong predictor of adolescent’s psychological wellbeing, being improving by adolescent’s academic achievement. Thecurrent study is one of the first Iranian father-adolescent’s studies,coupled with the effective role of adolescent’s academic achievement2for the mentioned relationship. This information could be used asguidelines for those dealing with adolescents in order to strengthenIranian father-adolescent relationship. In summary, this study has itspotential in explaining how to help adolescent’s senses of psychological well-being by considering paternal role as the mostimportant factor in adolescent’s life
