چکیده مقاله:
Fast urbanization and growth of population have a massive impact on different aspects of urban areas. Such a development threatens urban green space (UGS) which plays an important role in the socio-cultural life, regulates the city climate, and contributes to the well-being of urban dwellers. To halt the loss of UGS and to create an UGS that best fits with the social-cultural and health-related needs and the best adapted to the predicted climate change, the idea of a cross-cultural comparison with regards to century-old knowledge and change detection of UGS along with urban sprawl during past decade, was appeared as a new approches in order to recognize the main criteria of changing in different socio-cultural context. It was attempted to learn from century-old cultural knowledge how UGS supports the well-being of people in two different cultural contexts and how it is adapted (will be adapted) to the climatological-environmental context, i.e. water limitation, and densification of city structure or dense living conditions. This knowledge is combined with upfront GIS and remote sensing tools as well as scenario techniques to generate sustainable solutions under changing conditions. This research covers the methods of studies on people’s evolutionary and culturally driven perception of UGS and nearby recreation areas. As a result this study can culminate in a cross-cultural learning and recommendation of UGS structures which optimally satisfy the human well-being under given limitations.
