Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a form of multi carrier transmission with lots of applications in wireless systems. In this modulation scheme, Fourier transform is used to provide orthogonality among subcarriers. Wavelets have lots of advantages in time and frequency domains. By using the transform, the spectral containment of Wavelet-based OFDM is better than Fourier base on OFDM. In this paper, a comparison has been made between performances of the Fourier transform and wavelets in OFDM-based systems in order to improve in high frequency (HF) channel. Simulation results show that wavelet transforms outperform the Fourier transform in terms of bit error rate (BER) and system efficiency in HF channel..
