An important attribute of every text is its unity. Based on Halliday and Hasan (١٩٨٩), there are two sources of textual unity: structure and texture. Whereas structure has some obligatory and optional elements which make the text a unit of meaning, texture is depicted by certain types of semantic relations and lexico-grammatical patterns. Conjunction is one of those ties that can create cohesion in a text. The purpose of this study was to compare the frequency occurrence of conjunctions in Persian medical articles and their corresponding translations in to English and secondly to compare the basic error types related to conjunction in translated medical articleswhich were submitted to Iranian Journal of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology during 2014-2015 Using chi-square, the researchers, then, analyzed and interpreted the data. The results showed that the number of conjunctions in the Persian text was significantly less than that of its English translation. The results also revealed that the most frequent error type was related to additive errors.
