چکیده
The following research studies the comparing native and foreign stress and intonation patterns of English in EFL classrooms in Iran. In the present study, the researcher observed 50 hours of classroom activities, with the focus on word stress and sentence intonation. The research was conducted on 30 female EFL learners (at the intermediate level). The study adopted a quasi-experimental design. The researcher also recorded the class activates. The results of the present study showed that Iranian EFL students highly transferred their Persian language stress when they were asked to pronounced words and they put the greatest stress on the last syllable. the findings of the present study showed that Iranian EFL students had many problems with stress and intonation patterns of English. This might explain why Iranian EFL students are suffering from substantial English pronunciation deficienciesکلیدواژه ها
