The prediction of rice blast intensity on the basis of meteorological parameters in Rasht, Iran

In spite of the importance of rice growing in Guilan Province, Iran and its extensivelosses by blast, no comprehensive study has been so far carried out to determine riceblast prediction indices and to estimate the losses by blast (pyricularia grisea).Therefore, the outbreak of blast in rice farms of Rasht was related to 10-year weatherdata including precipitation, maximum and minimum monthly temperature, maximumand minimum monthly relative humidity, sunny hours and wind speed on a monthlybasis in 2006-2015. It was revealed that precipitation, relative humidity percentageand wind speed were the most important factors predicting rice blast in Rasht.
