چکیده مقاله:

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the two factors of managerial businessintelligence and systems thinking on knowledge management. Effective decisionmaking is the most important factor in the development of organizations, includinglibraries and information centers as major centers in knowledge management. Thesound and up-to-date reports, fast analysis tools, and data with appropriate qualitycan be mentioned as the important factors for effective decision-making. There aremany elements that strengthen the mentioned factors and assist managers in makingdecisions. Systems thinking and business intelligence are such elements. Todevelop their library centers, managers must identify and evaluate all approaches,components and their relations through utilizing systems thinking. In the modernmanagerial thoughts, instead of concentrating on the individual components, thesystems thinking (system-oriented) is used. In this new framework of management,the organization is considered as an integrated system.Increasing abilities and reducing limitations are the main purposes of enteringeach kind of technology into organizations. Libraries managers expect newtechnology, while achieving growth and creating harmony among current and futureneeds of users, reduce costs and provide possibility of implementing knowledgemanagement for them. By examining different dimensions of business intelligence,it can be found that this system is the same expected of libraries managers forknowledge management. The business intelligence is a collection of technologies, applied programs, and methods implemented to make intelligent decision-makingprocesses in an organization. In fact, the business intelligence is a tool for thefulfillment of management thinking and knowledge management. These two factorshave points in common in the objectives, approaches and applications of theirresults and also in some such issues as received reports from business intelligenceinformation dashboard, reports analysis tools are different from each other. Thispaper examines the effects of these two factors on modern libraries, as the maincenters of knowledge management, and their similarities and differences have beendiscussed.
