Effect of ZSM-5 support on photocatalytic removal of CO byCuCr2O4 and LaMnO3 nanocatalysts

چکیده

In this paper, LaMnO3 perovskite and CuCr2O4 spinel were synthesized by sol-gel auto combustion method and characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. Activity of synthesized catalysts were evaluated in removal of CO. Physico-chemical properties were characterized by XRD and SEM. The catalytic activities of this perovskite and spinel were evaluated in catalytic oxidation of CO byphotocatalytic process. Catalytic activity of the catalysts pure LaMnO3 and CuCr2O4 decrease and after 72 hours almost become completely deactive. In the other cases, adding activated carbon delated deactivation time and increase decomposition rate with moderate photocatalytic activity, but using ZSM- 5 zeolite as a support performs an exceedingly good photocatalytic activity with no deactivation. . SEMresult shows that the morphology of LaMnO3 and CuCr2O4 are as irregular shaped grains. Perovskite and spinel catalysts show a good activity in catalytic removal of CO. The conversion of CO by LaMnO3 and CuCr2O4 on ZSM-5 was 85% and 77% respectively in 24h at room temperature by photocatalytic process.
