The Interaction of Art and Architecture in Safavid era ( Case Study : Ali Gholi Agha Bath of Isfahan - Iran )

Safavid period has the most brilliant architectural history of Iran. The creation of a strong central government and the resulted security, advances in construction technology, urban development and the passion of art among the Safavid kings were among the factors of the architectural progress in that era. Safavid architecture is one of the milestones in the history of architecture and urban planning in Iran. The formation of a new school of architecture on the basis of past architectural traditions, unity of expression, diversity, scope, holistic view, beauty and efficiency in public buildings were the features of the architecture of this period. This article has analyzed Ali Gholi Agha Bathroom as one of the Safavid era architectural works in the sixth century AH which is the result of the developed thought of expanding social environment among the servants of the Safavid kings. This study has applied historical- analytical approach in which the data collection was based on the documents and field studies. The approach used in this research is social architecture.
