چکیده مقاله:

Cancer is an eventual effect of radiation, meaning that the probability of occurrence increaseswith effective radiation dose. This study is aimed to evaluate the risk of cancer among nonmedicalradiation workers, based on articles reporting cancer mortality or incidence in thementioned group. Nowadays, the widespread usage of ionizing radiation leads to varioustypes of cancer as a side effect, especially in Radiation workers. In a systematic research, thepapers including keywords of Radiation workers and cancer risk ; Uranium miners andcancer risk ; â€oeNuclear workers and cancer risk were extracted from PubMed. There wasno time-limitation for the publishing-date of articles. The irrelevant or duplicated papers andreview articles were excluded. Among 194 papers, 39 of them were selected for this reviewThe 12 papers were focused on lung cancer among radiation workers specially miners. Theirinvestigations were mentioned significantly high risk of lung cancer. The rest of studiesreported the incidence of various cancers simultaneously with evaluation of individual cancersites. It is important to note that the growing risk of cancer was less mentioned. Generally, there was no evidence of statistically raised cancer incidence among radiation workers.Nevertheless, the prevalence of leukemia, lung and thyroid cancers was increased betweenthis population.
