چکیده مقاله:

Cancer is one of the most important health problems worldwide, indicating high prevalenceand mortality. There have been many studies on the benefits of camel milk(CM) in cancer. The present study was carried out to determine the efficacy of CM in controlling cancer.Electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane library were searched toaccess studies giving any in vitro, in vivo, and human evidence on the efficacy of CM intreatment of cancer. Out of the 8o records found in the mentioned resources, 12 relatedstudies were included in the final analysis. CM has traditionally been used to treat cancer. Avery few studies shown the ability of CM to significantly inhibit the induction of thecytochrome P4501A1 (Cyp1a1), a cancer-activating gene, and to induce the NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1), cancer chemopreventive gene in murine hepatoma Hepa1c1c7 cells at the transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels . We also found that CMsignificantly inhibited HepG2 and MCF7 cells proliferation through the activation of caspase-3 mRNA.Controlled animal experiment of camel milk on rats showed that regularconsumption of CM reduces the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells and exerts antioxidantand DNA damage inhibitory activities. one study reported effect of CM on inducedhepatocarcinogenesis in rats so CM inhibit the rogression of hepatocellular carcinoma.Analysis has showed that CM has anticancer like substances that may improve the control incancer. The exact cause of anticancer effect of CM is not known. It is possibly due to itsantioxidant properties and scavenging effects on free radicals. Therefore it was important toinvestigate the possible anti tumor potential of CM in clinical trails.
