Intuitive eating is relevant for adaptive eating body weight and well-being and impairments are associated with dieting and eating disorders. It is assumed that intuitive eating depends on the ability to recognize one's signs of hunger and fullness and to eat accordingly. This suggests a link to the individual ability to perceive and processes bodily signals (interoceptive sensitivity, IS) which has been shown to be associated with emotion processing and behavior regulation. This study was designed to clarify the relationship between
emotion regulation and intuitive eating in 60
obese women (BMI<30) and 60
normal weight women. All participants completed the intuitive eating subscale(IES-II) and Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Subscale (DERS). For analyzing the research data we used SPSS 20 for Pearson correlation coefficient and Phisher Z, there is some significant correlation between two groups. There is an association between unconditioned permission to eating subsubscale(IES-II) and no acceptance(DERS) subsubscale in
obese women Another association is between Physical emotional eating subsubscale (IES-II) and goals(DERS) subsubscale in
normal weight women. Also there is association between strategies subsubscale(IES-II) and Unconditioned permission to eating sub subscale (IES-II) in obese women. In addition there is association between Physical emotional eating subsubscale(IES-II) and strategies(DERS) subsubscale in obese women. Moreover there is negative correlation between Permission to un-condition eating subsubscale(IES-II) and awareness subsubscale(DERS) in obese women. Also there is negative association between awareness subsubscale(DERS) and Trust to hunger and thirsty cues subsubscale(IES-II) in
normal weight women. In addition, there is a negative significant association between awareness subsubscale(DERS) and Suitable foods election subsubscale(IES-II) in
obese women . Another negative association is between clarity subsubscale(DERS) and Trust to hunger and thirsty cues subsubscale(IES-II) in
normal weight women.
