Investigation of Anisotropy Effect on Springback of Fiber Metal Laminate in Hat-shaped Bending

چکیده

Fiber Metal Laminates (FML) are one of the more applicable composite sheets that consist of metal layers and fiber reinforced. This layers are joint to each other with resin epoxy. In present article, experimental and numerical study of springback in hat-shaped section produced from FML sheet have been investigated. At first, the FMLs were produced with combination of aluminum 1050 sheet, woven E-glass fibers and polyurethane resin and pressed using a hot press at 210 °C. Performing a uniaxial tensile test according to ASTM E517, stress-strain curve as more as anisotropy coefficients of metal sheet have been obtained in different directions. Then, experimental tools were designed and manufactured. Bending of prepared FML, cut in 0°, 45° and 90° respect to the rolling direction (RD), was done in a controlled manner and finally the springback angles were measured. The results show that maximum and minimum springback related to specimen which cut in 90° and 0° versus to the rolling direction, respectively. Finite element simulation for studying the effect of sheet lay-up and also normal anisotropy value on springback was used. The results of this section show that the product geometry will be significantly affected by these factors
