چکیده

In this paper, the behavior of filament winding nanocomposite tubes under transverse impact loading is investigated. Experimental specimens are manufactured using Epon828 resin with different percent of Nano silica. Geometry of specimens were chosen to be in the form of cylindrical shell and filament winding implemented with semi-automatic machine. Ballistic test performed with gas gun and the entry and exit velocities of the projectile are carefully recorded. Due to the existence of various percent of Nano silica in the specimens, different behaviors are observed. Numerical analysis of ballistic impact using ABAQUS/Explicit software is carried out. Noting the complex behavior of composites and for accurate analysis, Hashin-Puck failure criteria are used. For this purpose special Subroutine code for ABAQUS software is written. Failure of fiber, output velocity, damage area and effect of percent of Nano particles on resistance of the cylindrical shells under ballistic impact in various velocity are derived and presented. The final results are analyzed and compared.
