Advances of nanotechnology have led to the development of nanomaterials with both potential diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Among them, superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) nanopaterials have received particular attention. When SPIOs are used as carrier vehicle, additional advantaged can be achieved including monitoring with. Iron Oxide particles are typically functionalized with many biologically active molecules like targeting moieties of peptides or derivations of antibody. Modified EDC coupling fraction used to fabricate the USPIO-C595 as a MR imaging contrast agent for breast cancer tumor in early stages. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), PCS were performed to determine the nanoparticle binding. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed to evaluate the signal enhancement on T2 spin echo of the nanoprobe. Protein and iron concentration of nanoprobe examined by the standard methoeds. MTT assay performed to evaluate the cytotoxicity of the probe in breast cancer cell line (MCF-7). Based on the findings, low concentration of nanoprobe caused reducing the T2 notably. According to the investigations from the present research USPIO-C595 nanoprobe may perhaps be the potential T2 breast molecular imaging together with the therapeutic agent.
