using bio-signals for human identification Human identification is an emerging field of research and among existing bio-signals eye oriented signals prove to have great prospects and possibilities of enhancement. Studies show that eye movement signals can be not only employed for diagnostic purposes in medicine, but also used in human identification since they have unique features among individuals. By applying bio-signals a new approach has been taken into human identification including all the crucial attributes of previous traditional identification .The main basis for applying bio-signals, specially eye movement signal, in human identification is their resistance to spoofing compared to other conventional biometrics like iris which are forged and reproduced at ease. The purpose of this article is to review examples of researches utilizing eye oriented signals in human identification , which with regard to measurement method are examined in two groups : electrooculographical (EOG) and videooculographical (VOG). The former uses skin electrodes to record eye signals while the latter obtains eye movement signals via two small video cameras.
