چکیده مقاله:
The electromechanical coupling behaviour of piezo ceramics makes this class of materials useful in electronic device applications, particularly for transducers, sensors, etc. On the other hand piezoelectric materials are very brittle and in order to overcome their brittleness they are mostly utilized as composite form in engineering applications. In this paper, finite element method was used to investigate the stress intensity factor of a piezoelectric composite plate with a pre-crack when subjected to a dynamic load (i.e.impact). In order to validate the model, at first, the simulation method was checked and calibrated usingsimple case of a steel plate with a pre-crack and the obtained results were compared with composite plate the previous studies in this field. Later the verified model was used to simulate the piezoelectric layered composite plate. The results showed that maximum dynamic stress intensity factor depends on the thickness and material properties of the piezoelectric layer and these are very important parameters in design and evaluation of a piezoelectric
