چکیده

This paper is a literature review that explores the advantages and disadvantages of subtitling as a vocabulary learning strategy. Many studies have conducted in this connection. Despite, Findings of some studies support the idea of using subtitling for the purpose of learning foreign language and confirm the benefits; some others disagree with this idea. The researcherinvestigated and studied many studies in this area to find the limitations and advantages. It concluded that positive points of using subtitlesare much more than the negative points. Thus, according to the studies have done, presence of subtitling can be a guiding factor to improve language skills and sub skills e.g. vocabulary learning. This study can present an easy access to the teachers and language learners are searching for a great strategy to learn a foreign language more easily.
