In this paper we examine the transient and static characteristics of a 3-section DBR laser under quasicontinuous tuning, while the thermal effect caused by current injection into the tuning section also considered. To do this, we use a simple concentrated thermal model and rate equations. Our analysis is based on the variable order Runge- Kutta algorithm.
