خلاصه مقاله:
A modified adsorbent used for CO2 capture was obtained by dry mixing of Ca(OH)2 fine powders with commercial hydrophilic silica nanoparticles. By dry mixing, Ca(OH)2 particles are coated on small silica nanoparticle agglomerates surfaces which serve as carriers of the adsorbent fine particles. The fluidization behavior of this modified adsorbent was studied experimentally in the presence of different alcohols (including methanol, 2-propanol and 2-butanol). Results showed that using the vapor of methanol and 2-propanol had most significant effect on fluidization improvement of Ca(OH)2 powders. This may be attributed to the high values of their surface potential and dielectric constant parameters which result in dissipating the electrostatic charges between surfaces of hydrophilic silica agglomerates. The fluidization behavior of Ca(OH)2+SiO2 (hydrophilic) in the presence of methanol and 2-propanol alcohols was considerably better than the fluidization homogeneity of Ca(OH)2+SiO2 (hydrophobic) reported in the literature.
