Teucrium polium (L.) is a famous spices from Lamiaceae family that has various advantage in medicinal and pharmaceutical industry.The purposes of the present work are extraction of essential oil from Teucrium polium (L.) using two methods including; Clevenger and Soxhlet methods and evaluating the total phenolic content of control plants by the Folin–Ciocalteu method as well as radical scavenging activity of the extracted essential oil to study the possible application of these essential oil as food preservatives.
