Three dimensional CFD modeling of steady state heat transfer from constant temperature finite cylindrical particle in cross flow for a wide range of Reynolds number have been reported. The effect of aspect ratio on heat transfer has been investigated with FEMLAB, commercial CFD software. The results show good agreement with experimental data from research papers and also experimental correlations. Based on these simulations, influence of aspect ratio on Nusselt number as a correction factor has been proposed for the experimental correlation which has been reported by Zhukauskas and Whitaker.
