Design of LC-VCO with Optimal Performance for Wireless Applications via Multi-Objective Evolutionary Techniques

چکیده
The continuing size reduction of electronic devices imposes design challenges to optimize the performances of modern electronic systems, such as: wireless services, telecom and mobile computing. Typically the design of oscillators is done aiming at both minimum Phase Noise and minimum Power Consumption; however, these two objectives are contradictory. Two multi-objective evolutionary techniques based on Inclined Planes system Optimization (MOIPO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) algorithm for design of the Cross-Coupled LC Voltage Controlled Oscillator (LC VCOs) with optimal performance are introduced; which have an amazingly tradeoff between three objective functions. The objective functions (Phase Noise, Power Consumption, and Figure of Merit) are used to find the Pareto Optimal Front (POF) solutions. Simulation results show the wonderful effectiveness of the proposed simulation-based optimization tool. The accuracy of the results is checked by HSPICE/RF simulations and then the optimizer core, implemented in MATLAB, manipulates the fitness and suggests some optimized designs.کلیدواژه ها
