Nitrogen is a valuable product in use in a broad range of industries such as petrochemical, chemical, food, etc. In the present work a new method of pure nitrogen production has been investigated via chemical looping reforming of methane. This proposed method is very attractive compare to conventional methods of pure nitrogen production, e.g. air separation units (ASU). In the proposed process, reforming of methane takes place in the fuel reactor and simultaneously three economically valuable products of H2 and N2 are produced. In order to guarantee the production of pure nitrogen, the oxidation step of oxygen carrier particles with air has taken place in two discrete air reactors. The proposed process has been simulated for 1 kmol/s of inlet methane. Based on the sensitivity diagrams plotted, the optimum flow rates of inlet streams for complete consumption of fuel, pure nitrogen production and maximum hydrogen production has been determined
