چکیده مقاله:
The present study aimed at exploring the relationship among EFL teacher’s career adaptability (CAA), their perception of teaching effectiveness (TE), their gender and record of service. The participants in the study – 93 EFL teachers (11 male and 11 female) of eight language institutes in Kerman - were randomly selected. They were asked to fill a 12-item Career Adaptability Scale (CAAS) developed by Savikas and Porfeli (1111) and a 11- item Teaching Effectiveness Questionnaire (Brown,1113). CAAS consisted of four 6-item subscales which were used to respectively measure Career Concern, Career Control, Career Curiosity, and Career Confidence as psychosocial resources for managing occupational transitions, developmental tasks, and work traumas. Pearson Product Moment correlation and Independent Sample T-test were the statistical measures applied to the data .The result showed that there is a significant relationship between CAA and TE . The findings also indicated that male teachers turned out to have higher scores on CAA in comparison with female teachers and there is not a significant difference between male and female EFL teachers regarding teaching effectiveness. Finally teaching effectiveness and career adaptability had significant and positive relationship with teacher’s record of service. The results of the research will help administrators, sponsors, head teachers and teacher trainers to develop their awareness on the role of CAA in EFL teaching effectiveness and to devise appropriate training programs in order to have more adaptable and efficient EFL teachers
