خلاصه مقاله:
The present study examined the effect of teaching short stories as a creative method on Iranian EFLlearners’ reading comprehension improvement. To do so, 18 male and female students, with the agerange of 18 to 28, studying reading skill at an English language institute in Ilam, Iran, participated inthe study. Based on their performance in the pretest, i.e. The Oxford Placement Test (Allan, 1999),they were divided into two homogeneous groups. The students in the experimental group were taughtthrough creative method based on some selected short stories while those in the control groupreceived the traditional method of teaching reading comprehension based on a conventional book forreading skill. Finalizing the treatment, the researchers gave the final exam and examined the resultsthrough t-test statistics. The results showed that the students in the experimental group outperformedthose in the control group.
