A New Texture Image Retrieval for Tourism Industry

in this paper a novel algorithm based on texture and color quantization is proposed. a tourism database is created. During the course of feature extracting, we have quantized the original images into 12 colors and transformed it to L*a*b color space, and then the statistical information of texture calculated to describe image features. then several particular content-based image retrieval techniques are selected and applied to the database. retrieval experimental results have shown that our proposed method has better performance in our prepared tourism and Corel_1k databases.
