Regarding few studies of intra industry trade in the agricultural sector, this study is toexamine country-specific determinants of intra industry trade types of agriculture inselected developing countries using panel methods based on data over the period 2001-2007. For this purpose, at first intra industry trade types that have been separated by usingboth Greenaway, Hine and Milner and Fontagné and Freudenberg (1997) approaches in 6-digit level of HS classification and then determinants of intra industry trade types isestimated. Overall and based on the most important results, it seems that the level ofdevelopment and growth (Human Development Index) has a significant positive effect onintra industry trade types of agriculture in studied countries. Also, the revealedcomparative advantage has a significant positive effect on vertical intra industry trade anda significant negative effect on the horizontal intra industry trade in agricultural groups.However, there is no definite result on the types of intra industry trade regarding the effectof exchange rate and trade openness.
