In this studyamine functionalized kit-6 magnetic mesoporousnanocomposite was synthesized by chemicalmethods and used as a recoverable sorbent for removal of Ponceau 4R as a toxic dye from aquoues solutions. Thesynthesized nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, BET, BJH and SEM methods. The effect of variousexperimental parameters on the dye removal efficiency was studied using Taguchi experimentall design method. The kineticstudies for anionic red Ponceao 4R adsorption showed rapid sorption dynamics by a second-order kinetic modelwith R2=0.9992 and qeq= 250 mg g-1, suggesting chemisorption mechanism. Dye adsorption equilibrium data were fitted well to theLangmuir and the synthesized sorbent showed complete removal efficiency with 87.7 mg g-1sorption capasity. The resultsshow that, kit-6 magnetic nanomesopores, can be used as a cheap and efficient adsorbent for removal of anionic dyes fromaqueous solutions.
