Metal-nanoporous organosilicas are of scientific and technological interest because of their tunable porestructures as well as their tailored catalytic, sorption and gas storage properties. Copper (II) functional ligand derivativebearing nanoporous silica were obtained using a sol–gel process from a chemically synthesized trimethylsilyl groupswith a metal template Cu2+-ligand schiff base with tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and cetyltrimethylammoniumbromide(CTAB) as a structural directing surfactant under basic conditions.
