Identification and Specialized Control of a DC/DC Boost Converter Using Neural Network

In this paper we use artificial neural networks (ANN) for identification and control of a DC/DC boost converter. A switched model of converter is used for identification. Neural network is based on multilayer perceptron (MLP) and back-propagation (BP) learning algorithm. Also neural network controller (NNC) is proposed that is based on specialized learning control and uses the neural model of converter that is obtained previously from identification procedure. Simulation results based on MATLAB/Simulink are presented and shows capable applications of neural networks in power electronics.
